According to legend, a sorceress once lived deep within the emerald caves of the River Ord.
Powerful and beguiling, she could make the water dance at her command.
As the solstice approached, her diamond-like gaze steadied the river, weaving the currents into a delicious ruby red wine.
As the currents flowed through "The Singleton" water source, they gave it a voluptuous and seductive character, as mesmerizing as the Ruby Solstice ritual itself.
At the Black Isle's only remaining single malt distillery, the magic of whiskey lies in its richly layered flavors.
This taste experience has long been achieved through masterful slow crafting: a lot of time is spent on each stage of production, from malting to aging.
The result is a balanced, smooth, enticing whiskey.
This rare expression fascinates with a lush character that has been refined in wine barrels for eight years.
The glass shimmers in the deepest amber.
Flavors of red wine, oak and fruit set taste accents, while the barley sugar sweetness, balanced by salt and crunchy gooseberry, ensures a velvety soft palate.
In the end, the velvety character gives way to a peppery note, like a beguiling kiss of silky spices.
Nose: Gentle aromas of spicy oak shavings and beech wood, plus red berries and creamy vanilla - a hint of wax, softer and milder with a little water
