Its origins lie at Trinidad Distillers Limited, where molasses is fermented into an aromatic base rum in just four days - quickly but thoroughly. It then goes through the column still, so no wild pot-still rum piracy, but a technically clean and elegant distillation. Quite simply, a rum with a tie instead of an eye patch.

Then follows the maturation phase in the warm Trinidadian sun, before the rum receives its final label in France - more precisely, at Maison Ferrand, home of the Plantation brand. There, it rests for another year in 350-liter Ferrand Cognac Casks, which give it the finishing touches. Like an exchange year in Bordeaux - with less French, but more Cask contact.
