Profile: What Makes Rivière Du Mât Arrangé Vanille des Tropiques Special
The Rivière du Mât distillery on the beautiful island of La Réunion continued its ancestors’ know-how and created a new range of four different arrangé rums. One of them is this delicious Vanille des Tropiques, made from the house’s own white rum with an infusion of vanilla pods and selected exotic spices. In colour it is pale yellow with golden-brown reflections.
The distillery was founded in 1886 in Saint-Benoît and is among the oldest still-active distilleries on the island. Its rums are made from molasses from sugar cane of the island – the result is one of La Réunion’s typical specialities.
