Big Peat is Douglas Laing’s smoky Islay blended malt. The Bremen Edition was released in 2018 in a limited run of 999 bottles and is bottled non-chill filtered at 48% ABV. In the sample it is easy to get to know.
The profile is dominated by smoke and salty sea air; the whisky is rather mild, round and balanced, with plenty of salt, restrained sweetness and a slight tingle on the tongue.
