Profile: What Makes the Plantation Rum Tiki Mug Special
The original Plantation Rum tiki mug is made of stoneware and holds approx. 350 ml. The logo on the mug is a totem symbolising the three pillars of terroir: Mother Earth (geology), the rays (sun and climate) and the human spirit (know-how). The totem represents the harmony between Mother Earth and the human spirit.
In the Caribbean, the name Plantation means “farm” – a tropical or subtropical farm or estate with agricultural land. The Plantation rum brand was developed by Alexandre Gabriel of the cognac house Maison Ferrand; it is known, among other things, for Stiggins’ Fancy Pineapple Rum, a tribute to Reverend Stiggins from Charles Dickens’ “Pickwick Papers” that Gabriel developed together with cocktail historian David Wondrich.
