This region is especially well suited to growing sugar cane, with a temperate climate and volcanic soils that lend the sugar cane juices a perfect balance of elegance and tonicity. Maturation in oak casks at high altitude leads to a slow maturation of the spirit, which makes Tierra Madre a superb rum – very balanced, fruity, with delicate notes of honey and a touch of wood. An all-round rich rum that presents in a radiant, deep golden colour.
