Profile: What Makes Navy Island 10 Year Old Select Cask First Edition Special
The first edition of the Select Cask range of the expressive Navy Island rum. Three casks from the Hampden distillery in Jamaica that previously held American bourbon whiskey were selected for this bottling. Distilled in traditional pot stills in November 2007, the casks were bottled after ten years of maturation into 1,288 bottles. A delicate rum with a high ester content, full body and intense aromas of tropical fruit and spice. The sample makes it easy to get to know the limited bottling.
Tasting Notes: What Navy Island 10 Year Old Select Cask First Edition Tastes Like
- Nose: Sage, aniseed, red fruit, vanilla, lemon ice and beeswax
- Palate: Sherbet of dark red fruit with cherries and berries, plus pine, polished oak and tropical influences
