Profile: What Makes Glendalough Rose Gin Special
Glendalough’s Rose Gin is based on the award-winning Wild Botanical Gin, joined by the petals of three different rose varieties – wild roses, heritage roses and damask roses. These petals are also responsible for the colour of this exclusive gin. Roses from the distiller’s mother’s garden are distilled together with wild roses and plants from the mountains around the distillery.
Tasting Notes: What Glendalough Rose Gin Tastes Like
- Nose: Very aromatic with soft aromas of juniper berries and fresh rose petals; lemon and blood orange
- Palate: Soft, sweet spice, Turkish delight and a hint of citrus fruit; rose petals and bright berries
- Finish: Long and soft in the finish – the rose petals again, plus pink peppercorns
