If whiskies had personalities, Chivas Regal 12 would be the Scottish lord with a perfectly ironed kilt and a charming wink. Since the early 20th century, it has borne the title "Regal" for good reason - after all, "average Chivas" simply doesn't sound that classy.
Its roots go back to 1801, when Chivas Brothers in Aberdeen still sold fine foods, exquisite spices, and coffee - a gourmet startup with style, so to speak. But at some point, they probably thought: "Why coffee when you can have whisky?" So they began combining the finest single malts into a royal blended Scotch.
Around 50 years after their founding, they blended their first whisky creation – back then still for the upper class. And lo and behold: their good taste spread. Today, Chivas Regal 12 year old is a stylish classic in bars all over the world - always a little classy, never pretentious.
