Profile: What Makes Tomatin Cask Strength Special
Tomatin’s cask strength bottling matures in selected first-fill ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks and joined the core range in early 2015 as its first cask strength release. In the sample it is easy to get to know.
The Tomatin distillery was founded in 1897 south of Inverness, came into Japanese hands in 1986 (Takara Shuzo and Okura & Co) and today operates six wash stills and six spirit stills.
Tasting Notes: What Tomatin Cask Strength Tastes Like
- Nose: Golden syrup and fresh ginger biscuits, distinct nuts behind them
