Some whiskies whisper - this one would rather hold an operatic aria. At 53.2% vol. With the chest and elegance of an Asian concert pianist comes the Kavalan Solist Sherry Cask - straight from Taiwan, where the climate is hot and maturation is almost as fast as service in a Taiwanese noodle house.

The Kavalan Distillery is located in Yilan, a region east of Taipei that was better known for its hot springs - until someone came up with the idea of producing award-winning single malt there. Since 2005, Kavalan has been living proof that whisky doesn't need 200 years of tradition to make an impression. Just good ideas, plenty of know-how—and apparently very good sherry casks.

The Solist Sherry Cask belongs to the distillery's premium line and is a so-called single cask whisky—meaning each bottle comes from exactly one cask. No mixing, no blending—full of cask character.

Bottled at cask strength, uncolored and unfiltered—exactly as nature (or the cask) created it. You could say: the whisky wears its wood like a tailored suit—stylish, powerful, unadulterated.
