The Epicurean is a fresh, pleasantly sweet blended malt Whisky (Vatted Malt) from selected malt distilleries in the Scottish Lowlands.
This malt whisky completes the series of Remarkable Regional Malts from Douglas Laing.
The bottle design and the gift tin reminds you of the lively Party life in Glasgow in the 1930s.
Douglas Laing's “The Epicurean” brings together the best that the east and west coasts of Scotland have to offer. An impressive powerhouse of intense aromas of malted barley, citrus fruits and herbs, wonderfully complemented by an abundance of floral notes
Tasting Notes: This is what The Epicurean tastes like
- Nose: clearly malted barley, plus intense aromas of citrus fruits and fresh herbs in combination with floral tones
- Palate: full-bodied and sweet in taste - caramelized sugar, flambéed lemon peels and a wonderfully fruity note of ripe peaches - this is accompanied by a clear, pleasantly spicy thyme note
- Finish: long lasting finish - again the fresh herbs and caramelized sugar, some almond and freshly cut grass
