Grain whiskies from Canada meet roughly eight-year-old malt whiskies from Scotland in Japan. United in Spanish ex-sherry casks, they mature for five years in caves and disused railway tunnels at the Chugoku-Jozo distillery. The sample is ideal for an easy introduction to this unusual blend.
Tasting Notes: What Togouchi Blended Whisky Tastes Like
- Nose: Gentle aromas of honey and caramel, pleasantly sweet and nutty, paired with a light spiciness – then fruit and cereal aromas
- Palate: The grain becomes more pronounced with a very elegant sweetness, reminiscent of dark chocolate with honey and vanilla
