Craigellachie 13 Year Old
Product number:
15133
Craigellachie has so far only been from the independent bottlers, so finally there is the highly praised single malt as original bottling of the distillery.
The distillery is perched on a hill in the heart of the Scottish Speyside.
Since 1891 whiskey is produced there according to the traditional method. The single malt whiskey gets its unique taste through the curved copper tubes used for cooling, the so-called "Worm Tubes". The malts
receive thereby their characteristic fruity notes.
Whiskey critic Jim Murray once said:
"Craigellachie I always prefer The Macallan ... If you get this whiskey for sale, take as much as you can carry.
Its strength lies in the creamy softness, the oiliness that adheres to the palate, so that follows the long, sweet malt flavor a wonderfully smoky finish. "
Nose: sweet, baked apples and roasted marshmallows, then clearly citrus fruits - especially orange and tangerine
Taste: soft and creamy in the taste, again the marshmallows and the tangerines, in addition sweet, fresh figs and spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves
Finish: long finish, some citrus fruit and spicy notes, a hint of smoke
