During the last century, nearly one hundred of Scotland's malt whiskey distilleries were either closed or destroyed - many in the name of progress
These venerable brands were forever lost - until now!
The Lost Distillery Company is independent and wants to bring the old names and their whiskeys back to life.
For this purpose, historical documents with a lot of research are used to create new interpretations of these long-forgotten whiskeys.
Used for these whiskeys young and old barrels, which give a taste profile that corresponds to 15-18 years old whiskey.
The distillery Auchnagie is a true legend.
This bottling is the first bottling of The Lost Distillery Company.
Auchnagie was located in the village of Tulliemet near Ballinlueg in Perthshire and at times also known as Tullymet distillery.
The name comes from the Gaelic, Achadh na Gaoidhe, which means "the wind in the fields".
Built around 1812, Auchnagie was located in an area in Scotland that was home to many small farm distilleries.
All these distilleries are now considered to have disappeared, with the exception of the notable exceptions Glenturret and Edradour.
Glenturret is now home to The Famous Grouse. A long way, considering the humble beginning as a small farm distillery.
1911 was the last year of the distillery in which was produced, 1912 Auchnagie distillery was demolished and has since disappeared from the scene.
Aroma: floral aromas and fresh fruits
Taste: again the fruits, in addition to nutty notes, especially cashews - then roasted oak
Finish: medium-length finish, the nuts and oak come back
