For many years, Scallywag has been a staple of Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range. This collection brings together distinctive whiskies from various Scottish regions.
While Big Peat embodies the rugged side of Islay, Scallywag represents Scotland’s Speyside region. They aren't exactly neighbors—and that is precisely what makes the range so diverse.

Its story began as a tribute to the Laing family’s loyal dogs. The distinctive label features a Fox Terrier, serving as a reminder that a whisky can certainly have a four-legged namesake. Scallywag is thus not merely another Scotch whisky, but a true member of the Douglas Laing family—albeit one that probably doesn't always come to heel the moment you say "Sit!"

Following the successful launch of the first Scallywag Winter Edition in 2025, the second release arrives in 2026. And it is exceptionally exclusive: there are just 5,100 bottles available worldwide.
The Winter Edition is bottled at natural cask strength—a robust 54.2% ABV—and features a finish in hand-selected Cognac casks. The whisky remains deliberately natural: free from artificial coloring and non-chill filtered.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Scallywag Winter Edition 2026 tastes like

• Nose: Honeyed malt and warming spices open the bouquet. They are joined by figs, dates, and orange marmalade, rounded off by creamy vanilla fudge.
• Palate: Rich and syrupy, featuring intense notes of sultanas, plum compote, and black cherry. Underlying these are warming baking spices and an elegant combination of chocolate and orange.
