This Speyside whisky is housed in an Ibisco decanter—a bottle that looks far more suited to a festive evening gathering than a quick dram at the kitchen table. It also boasts a natural mahogany hue, achieved without any artificial enhancement. The bottling is equally bold when it comes to alcohol content. You could say that no corners were cut—neither regarding its age nor its presentation.

The story of Glenlivet began back in 1824 in the heart of Speyside. George Smith was one of the region's first legal distillers to obtain an official license. That was a truly bold move at the time: illegal distilleries were commonplace in the Highlands, and Smith reportedly even had to carry armed protection. Clearly, whisky production was not always a profession for those with a strong need for personal safety.

Located in the remote Livet Valley, the distillery evolved over the decades into one of the world's most renowned single malt brands. The name "The Glenlivet" became so famous that other distilleries sought to capitalize on it. In 1884, George Smith’s son John finally secured a legal ruling establishing that only his distillery was entitled to use "Glenlivet" as its brand name.

Today, The Glenlivet is owned by Pernod Ricard and stands as one of the most celebrated representatives of the Speyside region worldwide.
