The distillery is located in the famous Speyside, a region that is something of an epicenter of Scottish whisky. Here, one distillery follows the next – you could almost think there are more whisky casks than sheep. And that's really saying something in Scotland. GlenAllachie was founded in 1967, precisely in a time when people still believed that carpet patterns had to be loud and whisky, above all, reliable. But things only really got exciting when industry legend Billy Walker took the reins. Since then, they've not only produced whisky here, but also experimented with passion – preferably with wood. Lots of wood.

For the Sinteis Series Part III, they have chosen two particularly exciting cask types: Oloroso Sherry Casks and French Virgin Oak made from Limousin oak. The latter are known for their intense interaction with the distillate – or, to put it simply: something really happens in the cask. The Oloroso casks also bring their own unique history, making the whole thing a kind of international exchange program – only without language barriers, and with considerably more style. The whisky was distilled in 2014, allowed to mature undisturbed for 11 years, and was finally bottled at robust cask strength in 2026.
