Welcome to the world of Kilchoman - the only distillery that is so Islay that even the peat has an island accent. With their 100% Islay philosophy, Kilchoman ensures that every drop of this whisky has tasted the island's salty sea air – from the first stalk of barley to the final rest in the cask.

Nothing is imported here – except perhaps the wind from the west. The barley grows in their own fields, the malting takes place right next door, the distillery overlooks the sea, and – surprise – the maturation takes place on-site, in this case for a full 11 years in 16 former Oloroso sherry casks. No wonder, then, that this bottling feels like a liquid piece of Islay.

In 2005, Anthony Wills, founder and self-professed island romantic, had the brilliant idea of ​​finally opening a new distillery on Islay after 124 years – and as a genuine farm distillery, no less. Today, Kilchoman is the Gallic village among Scottish distilleries: small, stubborn, independent - and damn proud of every bottle.
