Welcome to the countryside - more precisely: to the rolling hills of the Scottish Lowlands, where whisky is not only distilled, but literally grown. The Lochlea Distillery is something like the friendly neighbor among Scottish distilleries: small, independent, down-to-earth – and with a penchant for self-sufficiency.

Instead of buying barley from elsewhere, Lochlea simply grows its own grain – right on its doorstep. From field to bottle, everything is in one place. Or rather: on one farm. Sounds a bit like a farmers' market? And it is - only in liquid, 46% form.

With Orchard & Oak, Lochlea is now entering the next phase: The seasonal releases were nice, but now it's serious - with the Core Range, i.e. whiskies for the whole year. No more hunting for limited special editions, no more queuing in the rain - simply an honest dram from the farm. And because Lochlea knows that diversity doesn't only grow in the orchard, this malt matures in three different cask types: Bourbon, Virgin Oak and - yes, you read that right - Calvados.

The name "Orchard & Oak" already gives it away: Here, orchard meadows meet barrel storage, Lowland country air meets cask art. And the result? You can find out for yourself - or simply enjoy.

• Nose: Lively and inviting with distinct aromas of fresh apple. These are accompanied by hints of buttery caramel and a fine, sweet oak spice – fresh, fruity, and charming.
• Palate: A bright, fruity style with balanced sweetness. The single malt displays a harmonious combination of apple freshness, soft caramel, and a gentle, grassy note. The cask variety provides depth without being overwhelming.
