120 inhabitants, two shops, a hotel, plus a capricious climate and a rugged landscape - that was the Isle of Raasay until 2017. Since then there has been There's one more attraction there: the first legal whiskey distillery on the Scottish island. At the Scottish Whiskey Awards 2022, the Isle of Raasay Distillery was named Distillery of the Year chosen. A success that deserves to be honored. For example, with a special bottling of the oldest Raasay single malt released to date.
The Isle of Raasay 5 year old 2018/2023 - Scottish Distillery of the Year Edition made from unpeated raw spirit, which matured in Four Roses Bourbon Casks before being finished in rare Virgin Oak Casks made from Colombian oak (Quercus humboldtii). The result: delicious notes of vanilla and caramel with a long aftertaste of Crème brûlée.
