Talisker Surge is a single malt whisky from the eponymous Talisker distillery on the Scottish Isle of Skye. The single malt whisky matured exclusively in former bourbon casks and was bottled in 2022 for the travel retail market. Talisker Surge is a maritime single malt with Talisker's characteristically “atypical” strength of 45.8% ABV. Smoke, caramel, heather, pepper and toasted nuts are all very present here.
Tasting Notes: What Talisker Surge Tastes Like
- Nose: Sweet smoke and soft vanilla at first, with a touch of toffee and ripe green apples behind that
- Palate: Mouth-filling and creamy with a light sweetness at first – then more pronounced smoke and spicy pepper notes – light tones of soft caramel over everything
- Finish: Medium length in the finish – the smoke and light sweet touches again – roasted nuts and ground white pepper behind that
