In Cork, in the south of Ireland, Connor and Alan Hyde have for the first time bottled a peated distillate under their label, expanding their range with Hyde No. 11 “The Peat Cask”. Behind it lies a heavily peated single malt whiskey, triple-distilled from 100% Irish malted barley, matured for eight years in rich former bourbon casks. The Hyde No. 11 label is adorned with the year 1949, commemorating the year in which the first president of independent Ireland, Douglas Hyde, passed away.
