Profile: What Makes Gin Luz Special
Leonardo Veronesi began the first experiments to create Luz Gin in 2013. After years of experimenting with different plants, Marzadro obtained a distillate that is both fresh and aromatic.
The gin is made from nine Trentino plants – juniper, bay, olive, woodruff, rosemary, sage, clary sage, common mint and lemon: the juniper is macerated for 20 days, the other botanicals for 48 hours; both macerations are combined in the still, with the botanicals left in, and supplemented with Lake Garda lemon peels.
Tasting Notes: What Gin Luz Tastes Like
- Nose: Juniper with slightly citrusy final notes, good intensity and persistence
- Palate: Complex, dry, decisive and herbaceous
- Finish: Dry, with pleasant juniper notes and excellent persistence
