It is produced by the Boann Distillery, an independent distillery near Drogheda in eastern Ireland, passionately dedicated to reviving classic Irish whiskey.
The whiskey is triple distilled, which gives it a particularly mild and round texture, typical of Ireland. After distillation, the single malt is first aged in first-fill bourbon casks, where it develops structure and maturity. It then undergoes a six-month finish in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks, which previously contained a particularly sweet and aromatic sherry. This finish gives the whiskey additional depth and multi-layered complexity.
