Profile: What Makes Pig’s Nose Special
Pig’s Nose is a blended Scotch from the Spencerfield Spirit Company, based at the 16th-century Spencerfield Farmhouse in Fife. The house is also behind the blended malt Sheep Dip.
The blend contains a high share (around 40%) of malt whiskies, mainly from Speyside. Smaller shares from the Lowlands and Islay provide balance and deeper complexity.
Tasting Notes: What Pig’s Nose Tastes Like
- Nose: Soft, complex fruit of pear and apple, sweet creamy porridge and hints of roasted almond; apples, honey, vanilla and a hint of oak
- Palate: Plenty of malty cereal, oily nuts, light berries, a hint of salty sea breeze and delicate wisps of peat smoke; soft and round with caramel, malt, dried fruit and light vanilla sweetness
