Profile: What Makes Don Guido 20 Year Old Special
Don Guido is the Pedro Ximénez of Williams & Humbert, here as a Solera Especial with 20 years of maturity. In the glass it is black-mahogany, very dense and slightly viscous. The nose opens with a complex palette of dried figs, raisins, dark chocolate and fine roasted coffee notes, with a thread of old wood and sweet spices.
On the palate it is low in acidity, very sweet, honeyed and persistent: exceptionally rich and round with molasses, raisins, nuts, dried figs and chocolate, interwoven with subtle oak and mineral tones.
Williams & Humbert was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert. The bodegas lie in the geographical triangle between Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
