Profile: What Makes An Dúlamán Armada Strength Gin Special
An exotic of the gin world from Ireland. Distilled at the Sliabh Liag distillery in Donegal, this extraordinary gin contains five types of seaweed – plus juniper berries, herbs and lemon peel. Matured in former Rioja wine casks, it is bottled at cask strength at 57% ABV and is regarded as Ireland’s first navy strength gin. The name recalls “La Duquesa Santa Ana”, a ship of the Spanish Armada lost off the coast of Ardara in 1588. A soft, complex gin with a full body and distinct maritime notes of seaweed, sea salt and spray, above all a pleasant sweetness of ripe fruit.
