Glendronach's 10-year-old Forgue was originally bottled for the travel retail market. Matured in former oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, bottled without chill-filtration and without added colouring. The sample makes it easy to get to know.
Tasting Notes: What Glendronach 10 Year Old Forgue Tastes Like
- Nose: Intense aromas of Seville blood oranges and ripe cherries at first, then ripe barley and roasted chestnuts – spicy cocoa above all
- Palate: Sweet Valencia oranges and morello cherries, the barley again – then notes of blackcurrants, toffee pralines and earthy blackberries follow
- Finish: Rich and pleasant in the finish – plenty of oranges, paired with tobacco and nutmeg
