Profile: What Makes Highland Park Valfather Special
The Norse god Odin was also called “All-Father”, as he was the father of all the Norse gods. He was likewise called “Father of the Slain” (Valfather), since all warriors killed in battle were adopted by Odin and remained with him in Valhalla. In Valhalla, all the warriors prepared for the battle at the end of the world. Following the Valhalla and Valknut releases, Valfather now joins the ranks of the Norse saga bottlings. The sample is ideal for an easy introduction to this boldly peated Orkney style.
Tasting Notes: What Highland Park Valfather Tastes Like
- Nose: Distinctly ripe apple and sweet pear, plus vanilla and crème brûlée aromas – toasted cedar wood in the background
