Profile: What Makes Willett Family Estate Small Batch Rye Special
The Willett distillery in Bardstown was owned by the Willett family until the early 1980s. Since then, the distillery has been part of Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, where a member of the Willett clan is also found. Brands such as Noah's Mill, Old Bardstown and Johnny Drum have long belonged to Willett. The revenue these brands generated was invested in renovating the distillery through the 1990s, and in 1997, true to tradition, a beer still and a pot still were brought back into operation. Willett now also supplies fresh distillate to the Heaven Hill distillery.
