The Epicurean (German: “the bon vivant”) is a fresh, pleasantly sweet blended malt whisky (vatted malt) crafted from selected malt distilleries of the Scottish Lowlands, in the range since 2016. With this malt whisky, Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts series is complete. The bottle design and gift box evoke Glasgow's lively party scene of the 1930s.
Tasting Notes: What The Epicurean Lowland Blended Malt Tastes Like
- Nose: Distinctly malted barley, plus intense aromas of citrus fruit and fresh herbs combined with floral tones, buttery notes with a hint of green banana
- Palate: Full-bodied and sweet – caramelised sugar, flambéed lemon peel and a wonderfully fruity note of ripe peaches, plus apple and white grapes, with a distinct, pleasantly spicy thyme note developing
