Profile: What Makes Pusser’s British Navy Rum 15 Year Old Special
Since the end of 2018 the 15-year-old Pusser’s has come in a new design and a new bottle. The rum now comes exclusively from Guyana and matured for over 15 years in wooden casks. The result is a rather light-bodied, spicy rum: dark chocolate and fudge, liquorice and roasted nuts, plus fruit such as stewed plums and dried apple slices.
Tasting Notes: What Pusser’s British Navy Rum 15 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Dark chocolate and fudge, behind them spicy aromas of liquorice and roasted walnuts; cassia, black pepper and Demerara sugar
- Palate: Fruity notes of stewed plums and dried apple slices – then again the dark chocolate and the nuts
- Finish: The fruity tones stay for a long time – above all roasted coffee beans
