Profile: What Makes Arran 10 Year Old Special
Awarded Best Island Single Malt Whisky in the class up to 12 years at the World Whisky Awards 2014! Distilled from unpeated barley, the result is a wonderfully rounded, beautifully balanced malt with the fruity aromas typical of Arran.
The 10 year old is the flagship of the Arran Distillery in Lochranza in the north of the Isle of Arran. It was founded by Harold Currie, a former director of Chivas Brothers, and shows a fresh, fruity, honeyed house style with citrus, apple and malt. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration and at natural colour at 46% ABV, so the aromas are retained.
Tasting Notes: What Arran 10 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Fresh citrus aromas, plus honey and vanilla; buttery vanilla
- Palate: Still the citrus fruit and the honey, the vanilla becoming creamier, some coconut and butterscotch – malt and hazelnut in the background; rounder, richer orchard and citrus fruit meets sweet oak
- Finish: Velvety-soft, long and clean finish with sweet spice, cinnamon, hazelnut and a fresh, subtly coastal note

Mein Favorit! Vanillig, und sehr süß nach Wasserzugabe. War eine Nachbestellung von mir, dementsprechend habe ich ihn ja schon ein weiteres Mal gekauft und kann ihn nur weiterempfehlen!
