The Arran Signature Series Edition 2 Barrel Bonfire has been matured in former Bourbon Barrels for almost five and a half years since 2012 ,In September 2018, the whisky was decanted into Quarter Casks that previously contained Bourbon from the Koval distillery in Chicago.
The Arran Signature Series Edition 2 Barrel Bonfire is a heavily peated single malt at 42ppm Whisky.
Arran last distilled peated single malt in 2017.
The selected Quarter Casks were blended together and bottled in a total of just 14,822 bottles worldwide.
The Single Malt Scotch Whisky without colorings and without cold filtration.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Arran Signature Series Edition 2 Barrel Bonfire tastes like
- Nose: strong aromas of dry campfire smoke, juicy oranges and fresh vanilla pods
- Palate: soft and mouth-filling, very complex with lots of vanilla, followed by notes of lemons burned on the grill and roasted oak - above all spicy hints of cinnamon, coriander and black pepper
- Finish: very long and warm in the finish - the smoke is present, plus the spicy oak again - the fruity notes recede
