Profile: What Makes Bowmore 15 Year Old Special
Bowmore’s dark 15-year-old spent the last three years of its maturation in former Spanish oloroso sherry casks. The result is a rich, deep dark, beautifully balanced malt whisky.
The sherry maturation is accompanied by some peat smoke rather than overpowered by it.
Tasting Notes: What Bowmore 15 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Delicate dark chocolate, sun-dried fruit, plus peat smoke; smoky caramel, dates, citrus fruit and quite dry sherry
- Palate: Cedarwood and toffee dominate, dark fruit and raisins again; dark chocolate and cocktail cherries on the malty palate, balanced by peat smoke and a hint of dry oak
- Finish: Complex and robust finish with plenty of sherry; with nice smokiness, chocolate, black pepper and smoked meat

Den alten "Darkest" habe ich noch ein bißchen voluminöser in Erinnerung, aber immer noch ein Schnaps außergewöhnlicher Klasse. Hoffentlich hebt auch Bowmore mal die % etwas an.

sehr ausgewogen
Nicht ganz so knallig wie ein Laphroig, aber sehr ausgewogen. Torf und Rauch vereint mit Fruchtiger Note. Für mich einer der besten 15 Jährigen überhaupt.

Nicht umsonst hat dieser Whisky 15 Jahre gelagert.Der Geschmack ist einfach intensiver.Rauch,Meer,salzige Luft, alles ist in diesem hervorragenden Whisky vereint.
