The classic from Bowmore - for the 12 year old Bowmore, exBourbon and exSherry Casks are selected and blended together in a ratio of 70% exBourbon and 30% exSherry.
The result is a delicate Single Malt Whisky with soft notes of honey, citrus fruits and sweet peat smoke.

Aroma: Torfrauch, dann fruchtig, dann würzig und alkoholisch Rauch Früchte Gewürze Alkohol
Geschmack: Ausgewogen-süffig. Hinter dem Rauch verbirgt sich eine Art "Alles und Nichts"-Geschmacksteppich. Mal meine ich die verschiedensten Dinge zu erkennen, mal ist es nur süßliche Schärfe. Insgesamt eher schwach auf der Brust und ohne Spritzigkeit im Antritt. Rauch Zitrus Salz Pfeffer
Abgang: Lang anhaltend und trocken. Lange anhaltender Nachgeschmack, verbleibende Trockenheit. Dunkle Schokolade Nelke Schinken
Kommentar: Ingesamt für mich eher enttäuschend. Im Vergleich zu den anderen Islays umfasst das Raucharoma anfänglich eine leichte Gumminote, die aber über die "Entlüftung" verschwindet. Geschmacklich ist er zwar ausgewogen und nicht einfältig, mir aber zu schwach und unaufregend, ohne "Punch". Nach dem Dram ein Trockenheitsgefühl im Mund, welches so manchen furztrockenen Rotwein übertrifft.
Einen weiteren Abzug gibt es für den Farbstoff
Inmsgesamt würde ich drei von fünf Punkten geben, mein Lieblingswhisky wird es jedoch nicht werden....

Der etwas andere Islay.
Kräftiger Rauch (nicht phenolisch) und süßer Honig
und dunkle Schokolade.

Sehr guter, vollmundiger Whiskey.Sehr zu empfehlen für Leute, die nicht unbedingt sehr rauchigen trinken möchten.
