Profile: What Makes Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Special
Glenfarclas is one of Scotland's few independent distilleries. Founded as early as 1836 and owned by the Grant family since 1865. John Grant leads Glenfarclas today already in the fifth generation. Glenfarclas is also one of the few distilleries that have produced almost continuously since their founding. This explains the wide range of different bottlings from this house. The sample is ideal for an easy introduction to this complex, sherry-forward style.
Tasting Notes: What Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Fresh herbs at first, distinct menthol, then sweet sherry aromas and dark fruit
- Palate: Intense sherry tones and creamy malt, plus notes of fresh bread and ginger – nuts and chocolate behind them
