Profile: What Makes Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old Special
Dalwhinnie is the highest distillery in Scotland and produces a highly aromatic, gentle, almost sensuous malt. Dalwhinnie is an important component of the Black & White and Dimple blends. The 15-year-old matures in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, which gives it its paradoxical character: sweet, floral and clean, yet with a weight usually reserved for heavier malts. The sample makes it easy to get to know.
