This single grain whisky was produced at the North British Distillery in Edinburgh – a distillery that has been doing its work quietly since 1885. Single grain here doesn't mean "one grain," but rather: "I'm different, but I also come from Scotland and carry a Barrel."
This whisky, distilled in 2009, was aged for 15 years in classic Bourbon Barrels – making it arguably one of the best-aged grain products in Great Britain. It was bottled by Signatory Vintage, the independent bottler who loves to bring whiskies to light that otherwise remain in the shadows.
And that's precisely what makes this North British so exciting: no showmanship, no peat storms – simply solid distilling, matured for years in casks and then – bang – into the bottle.
