For For this bottling, casks were selected that were previously Bourbon Whisky, Sherry and rum contained.
The ratio is 60% exBourbon, 35% exSherry and 5% exRum casks.
Campbeltown: The Victorian whisky capital of the world
Campbeltown, once with over 30 distilleries in the 19th century as Whisky Capital, looks back on an eventful past as the former Center of whiskey production and still has a worldwide reputation today.
Today the three active distilleries preserve Springbank, Glengyle and Glen Scotia in Campbeltown the heritage of former Victorian whiskey capital of the world and produce throughtraditional production methods unique single malts.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Springbank 12 Years Cask Strength tastes
- Nose: Aromas of powdered sugar and lemon candy are present , accompanied by clotted cream and jam - above all dried fruits and demerara sugar
- Palate: rich and syrupy in taste with pronounced notes of Canned peaches, fruity syrup, honeycomb and milk chocolate
- Finish: in the long finish, subtle peat smoke paired with hints of heather honey and orange peel
