Portrait: What makes the Traspers 15 year old

Life itself writes the best stories. Just like the story of Juan Paz from Panama, now known as John Traspers. Growing up as the son of a master distiller, he developed the same passion for rum as his father and began selling their rum to captains in port on the great Panama Canal, listening to their stories and playing poker with them. With a great longing to write his own story, he gets his personal main prize while playing poker: a trip to America.

When he reaches his destination, he begins to share his love for rum with those who are just like him he is thirsty for life and for writing their own stories. They get together in the “Traspers Compass Room”, enjoy rum from Traspers' homeland and play cards.

The only requirement for being there: a really good story!

Tasting Notes: This is how the Traspers 15 year old tastes like

• Nose: Caramel, vanilla, chocolate, molasses and toffee are clearly present - then followed by aromas of spicy wood and roasted nuts with brown cane sugar - in the background there is clearly black currant jam and fruit cake with pears and raisins
• Palate: soft mouthfeel with strong notes of fresh fruit cake and caramel, This is joined by nuts and marzipan - later spicy ginger and nougat with muscovado sugar.
• Finish: medium to long with a soft finish with soft caramel and a slight nuttiness, plus spicy notes of oak and clearly rum-grape-nut-chocolate - behind it hints of creme brûlée
