Founded in 1825, had Edradour changed owners - from the New York Mafia to Andrew Symington , the brains behind Signatory Vintage. The production has hardly changed: Edradour works largely as in the 19th century, including with original equipment. Having long since become a legend among single malt fans, the Highland distillery produces its peatiest single malts under the Ballechin brand, distilled from malt with at least 50 ppm phenol content.

Freshly designed, the Ballechin 11 Years 2011/2022 SFTC Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured #275 demonstrates the harmony of peat smoke and fruit. The “heavily peated” Whisky matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry cask #275. At 59.6%vol. Cask Strength releases campfire smoke with plums and wood spices as well as raisins and salted pistachios.

• Nose: intense peat smoke and ripe fruit aromas in wonderful harmony
• Palate: mouth-filling and strong in taste - clearly ripe plums and spicy notes Oak wood - juicy raisins and roasted and salted pistachios behind it - strong peat smoke above all
• Finish: long in the finish - lots of peat and spicy wood - the sweet fruits recede a bit
