Producing whisky in its most original form - that's what Edradour has under Scotch fans made a legend years ago. As one of the few distilleries in Scotland, until 2018 it produced its single malt exclusively in the old farm buildings, sometimes using equipment that was more than 100 years old. And these are rarely used in whisky making anymore. The latter has not changed even after the completed expansion to include Edradour II.
The Highland distillery is now consolidating its favorite status with six new Edradour and Ballechin bottlings in September 2023 - all from liqueur wine and wine barrels.
Under the Ballechin brand, “Sotland's Little Gem” bottles their peatiest single malts, distilled from malt with at least 50ppm phenol content (responsible for the smoky note) . The Ballechin 19 year old Manzanilla Sherry Casks was stored in rare casks. Manzanilla Sherry is dry, often with mineral notes, and is only produced in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in Spain.
