Portrait: What makes the BUMBU The Original special.

The recipe for the BUMBU The Original comes from the 16th and 17th centuries: Sailors and merchants mixed Caribbean fruits and spices with their rum and called it "Bumbu".

This recipe is still followed today and various fruits and spices are added to the Barbados rum - but no artificial colors or flavors!

Best and sustainably produced sugar cane from eight  ;various countries in South America and the Caribbean are used to make the rum.
Sugar cane from Barbados, Bélize, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana and Honduras.

The sugar cane is imported to Barbados from these countries. The Bumbu Rum is distilled in Barbados.
The rum matures for up to 15 years in former bourbon barrels.

Tasting Notes: This is what the BUMBU The Original tastes like

  • Nose: the BUMBU The Original impresses with its rich and complex aromas of Madagascar vanilla, soft caramel and spicy oak
  • Palate: Notes of cinnamon, roasted nuts, ripe bananas and allspice are very present in Bumbu
  • Finish: the finish is soft and harmonious, a perfect composition of mild sweetness and soft spiciness
