Portrait: What makes the Laphroaig 10 Year Sherry Oak Finish.

The 10-year-old Laphroaig Sherry Oak Finish is a classic Laphroaig, but has received a special storage in Oloroso casks. 

This storage gives the Laphroaig very special flavor notes. It remains, of course, the classic smoky flavor that belongs to a Laphroaig. In addition, however, now come rather sweet flavors, which the malt receives mainly from the finish in the Oloroso barrel

The production of Laphroaig 10 years Sherry Oak Finish is done in the same way as with the classic Laphroaig 10 years. Only the storage differs from the classic. Hereby, the complexity in the taste is further expanded.

The storage or maturation of Laphroaig 10 years Sherry Oak Finish initially ten years in former Boubon barrels. Only in the last step is the finish of storage in the sweet oloroso sherry barrels.

These barrels of European oak, which were previously filled with sweet sherry, are carefully inspected before storage so that only the best quality is used.

  • Aroma: Classic Laphroaig flavors with subtle sherry sweetness, peaty and medicinal whisky with notes of manuka honey and bacon
  • Taste: Sweet and complex, notes of honey, grilled bacon and maple syrup
  • Finishing: Long and sweet with medicinal notes that you also expect from Laphroaig

Ein sehr schöner Laphroaig, sehr starker aber mir sehr gut gefallener Sherry Einfluss.
Trotzdem ist viel Rauch da und es ust eindeutig ein Laphroaig.

Ausgezeichneter Whisky

Für mich ein extrem guter Whisky starker Sherry Einfluss, trotzdem ist Er vom Geschmack und Aroma her klar ein Laphroaig.
Gute Sherry Fässer, Altersangabe, stark rauchig, mit genug Volumen % abgefüllt und die Abfüllung ist, was eine extreme Ausnahme ist über den Veröffentlichungszeitraum günstiger geworden.
