In 2014, Slyr's Master Distiller Hans Kemeter selected fifty barrels of fresh distillate and transported them by ski lift to the summit of Stümpfling Mountain at 1,501 meters.
Up here is the altitude camp of the Slyrs distillery - the Mountain Edition matured there for over five years - the pure mountain air and the extreme temperature fluctuations of up to 60 degrees characterize this special location and are reflected in the single malt whiskey.
Aroma: some bourbon vanilla, then caramel and roasted almonds - some smoke in the background
Taste: dry in the taste - very spicy and intense with slightly peppery notes, behind it almonds and nuts
