After long years of war, Europeans made peace in the early 19th century and signed a far-reaching peace treaty called "El Pacto"!
Through this contract, well-known and proven trade routes to the new world were resumed and French merchant ships brought along many other goods also barrels filled with sweet Sauternes wine to Cuba.
There, the wine was sold and with the local rum, the now empty barrels were filled and brought back home.
So the fresh rum stored for some months in the Sauternes wine barrels and received in this way special flavor and taste.
This is the story that leads to this noble rum, the Pacto Navio.
The rum received a finish in selected former Sauternes wine barrels from the French Bordeaux.
Aroma: a mix of fresh and grilled fruits, with soft caramel and sweet honey - a little vanilla above all
Taste: creamy with a pleasant sweetness - clearly citrus, then spicier with notes of cinnamon and tart herbs
Departure: long and fruity on the finish - a slight sweetness with slightly spicy notes remains present
