Product information "BenRiach 12 year old Sherry Wood 46%vol. 0,7l"
Benriach aged this Speyside malt whisky in former Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for 12 years. The result is a rich, aromatic single malt whiskey with lots of fruit, dark chocolate and spices.

Nose: like a fruit salad with figs, pears, apricots and glazed cherries with mandarin syrup - followed by aromas of cake spread with honey, caramel cream and roasted vanilla pods
Taste: a rich fruit cocktail with figs soaked in honey, baked pineapple and sultanas - behind them chocolate fondant and muscovado sugar - in the background mandarins, ground nutmeg and vanilla
Finish: ripe nectarines, candied grapes and star anise - lots of sherry above all.

Ein sehr gehaltvoller, aromatischer Whisky. Schmeckt nach Sherry, sehr fruchtig, nussig, nicht streng. Er zeigt auch eine leichte Zimznote. Mein Lieblingswhisky.

Schöner Standardsherrywhisky, der zusammen mit dem Glendronach 12 einen guten Einstieg in die Sherry-Welt ermöglicht. Leider wird die Abfüllung eingestellt.

Ein kräftiger Sherryfass-Whisky. Wer europäische Eiche kennenlernen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Zunächst süß und fruchtig-würzig wird er zum Abgang hin deutlich trockener und zartbitter.

Nicht schlecht, aber fast etwas zu sherry-lastig. Aromatisch/geschmacklich relativ einfach gestrickt, mit etwas alkoholischer Schärfe. Erinnert an mit Wasser verdünnten Glenfarclas 105. Der BenRiach 15 PX ist klar besser (runder, weicher, komplexer).
