Product information "Benriach 10 Year Old Curiositas Peated Malt 46% vol. 0,7l"
The 10-year-old Benriach has a strong peat aroma and flavor, untypical of a present-day Speyside malt.
With this Speyside peat bomb Benriach wants to commemorate the Speyside whiskys of the late 19th century.
During this time, Speyside malts were also mild to vigorous.

Nose: reminiscent of a medicine cabinet, plus fresh grass and heather - warm asphalt, slightly sweet
Taste: sweet and strongly smoky, clear iodine and pepper - very warm with nutty notes
Finish: oak, tar and peat - some fennel, slightly sweet on the finish

Toller rauchiger Malt aus der Speyside! Und auch noch fruchtig und frisch. Da er mit 46% abv abgefüllt wird, nicht gefärbt und nicht kaltfiltriert ist, präsentiert er sich auf ziemlich naturbelassene Art und Weise. Kann man nur empfehlen.

....von mir aus gerne noch mehr Rauch!
Ein wirklich gut gemachter Whisky mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Curiositas ist eine sehr gute Wahl, um sich an "Raucher" heranzuarbeiten.
Der medizinische Geruch und die Spur Jod überdecken anfänglich die süßeren Aromen, aber diese kämpfen sich durch. Zum Schluss ein schöner, langer Nachklang.
Er wird wohl den Weg in mein Standard-Sortiment finden. Zu einem Islay-Südküsten-Whisky fehlt aber noch ein Stück, für eine Speyside-Whisky aber schön intensiv.
